Shine Special Education Center  was founded on March11, 1998 as an intervention center persons with autism and communication handicapped individuals.

The center operates all-year round, providing educational services to persons (from early childhood to adult age) diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD) such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) , Asperger’s syndrome, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS).


In addition to pervasive developmental disabilities, the center also caters to persons with Communication Handicaps, Language and Speech Disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other developmental delays.

Our Team

Co-founders Maria Rosario Gonzalez Joaquin and Suzette Sumaria. Sales lead a dedicated team of teachers and therapists.

Our team  have bachelors, masters and ongoing doctorate degrees in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and international continuing education units in Treatment and Education of Autistic and other Related Communication Handicapped Children, Applied Behavior Analysis, Oral Placement Therapy, and Picture Exchange Communication System Training.
